Introduced in 1981 and numbering 50 locomitives in total, the class 58 has carried various liveries of railway companies and has seen little external modification.
Used primarily as a heavy freight loco hauling coal, it could be seen on inter-regional freight trains and occasional passenger turns.
The models feature the new 'Super Creep' motor and have a MEM 6-pin decoder socket fitted for easy DCC Conversion. The locos have alternative lighting arrangements and the included Accessory Pack will contain alternative exhausts and bogie sideframes.
