The good news for British modellers is that they produce a selection of UK Steam and Diesel Sound Decoders in their Econami range at a fantastic price. These decoders each contain custom sounds for a variety of different classes of locomotive, meaning that the same type of chip can be used in multiple models. A 21 pin direct plug version is also available.
